George and Noriko break all the rules. The duo brings something unique, something unexpected. Known as the Japanese Blues Cowboy and the Tsugaru shamisen player, they have been kicking up a storm wherever they play. George’s light- ning fast blues licks and growling harmonica are enhanced by Noriko’s percussive sounds made on the traditional shamisen (Japanese banjo). Their sound has morphed into a kind of bluegrass/hard country blues with a Japanese twist.
Their Sunday performance will be ASL interpreted.

GeorgeとNorikoは音楽の世界におけるアウトローです。常に他 と違うもの、想像を超える何かを追求しています。ジャパニーズ・ ブルース・カウボーイとして、また津軽三味線奏者として知られ、 いつも旋風を巻き起こすような演奏をしてきました。Georgeの稲 妻のようでスピード感のあるハーモニカのブルースに、伝統的な 三味線を使ったNorikoのリズム感のある音が効果的に絡み合います。二人の音楽は、日本風ブルーグラス/ハード・カントリー・ブ ルースと呼べるでしょう。
日曜のパフォーマンスは、手話の同時通訳付き。
